Community

Infigen actively supports local communities in the regions in which it operates, through sponsorships and other forms of support for community-based organisations.

Weereewa 2010 – A Festival of Lake George

Infigen was the major sponsor of the 2010 Weereewa Festival, a bi-annual event held on the shores of Lake George in NSW to celebrate the unique history and ecology of the region.

This year's theme, Winds of Change, was inspired by Infigen’s Capital wind farm, which is seen as a symbol of the change sweeping through the local region, and more broadly across the world, with respect to the growth of renewable energy.

As major sponsor of the Festival, Infigen was pleased to fund the two headline events: the Weereewa Sculpture Prize, a sculpture competition and exhibition on the lakebed itself, and the En Plein Air weekend, a two-day painting event involving some of Australia’s most prominent landscape and environmental artists.

Below is one of the entries from the Weereewa Sculpture Prize.

2010 Beachport Festival by the Sea

Infigen was a major sponsor of the 2010 Beachport Festival by the Sea, a bi-annual event held to celebrate the Limestone Coast region of South Australia.

The 2010 Festival’s theme was SeaFari: A Celebration of Fish, Food and Fun, and involved a celebration of Beachport as a seaside town, its innate history, and its ‘wild and wonderful’ natural environment.

The Festival is a significant event on the region’s event calendar and attracted more than 5,000 visitors from across South Australia.

As a local community member and beneficiary of the region’s ‘wild and wonderful’ natural environment, Infigen strongly supported the Festival’s mission and was pleased to participate as a major sponsor.
